The Autumn Leaves....

With the warm Autumn days we are enjoying our city trees look like they have been painted with gold. They are just stunning.

Rotorua is a city of Lakes (16), Forests, Flowers and Fun. Our City Fathers do a grand job keeping the central city area pristine and pretty.

There are flower beds all over the town and each season the colourway changes. I love this shot of the Gardener's Cottage in the Government Gardens.

A Wonderful Weekend...

In this business there are moments in time that fill you with joy.

We have had the most wonderful guests from Texas and Adelaide with whom we had such fun.

Add to that warm, balmy, autumnal weather, a walk in our Redwood forest and coffee at Fat Dog Café.

Plus I am reading a great book which I see they are planning to make in to a movie with Lady Mary from Downtown Abbey  touted for the lead role.

We recently had a guest from Guernsey who was following the English Cricket Team and she suggested "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peeled Pie Society". It's a mouthful in itself, but it makes for a great read.

The book is in letter form and is beautifully crafted. It has been around very quite sometime, but no matter the age - a good read is a good read!

This Blog is Now Linked...

So, after about an hour I figured how to link this blog to The Springs website. Now I am just going to try going the other way.....http://www.thesprings.co.nz ... and there we are.

No matter how old we are I think it's important for us to make use of all the tools in the Ethernet and make them work for us.

Our season is slowing right down and we are looking forward to some quieter time. However there are still chores to be done and this winter, once the interior paintwork is complete, there is new carpet to be laid.

There will be some before and after shots to come.

So let's get this show on the road....

For many years I wrote a Diary as part of The Springs Luxury Bed and Breakfast website. It is now defunct, but I miss being able to natter about things as they happen here in Rotorua and The Springs.

As soon as I complete this blog entry I must find a way to link it to the site, but first news of the day.

Here in New Zealand it is ANZAC Day. It is a wonderful day when we commemorate those in our armed forces who fought and especially those who never came home giving us the freedom we enjoy today.

In spite of what you may hear, Australia and New Zealand have an undeniable bond. It's like big brother, little brother. A very famous Australian songwriter/singer, John Williamson wrote a song "The Kiwi and The Emu. I love the line, If you pick on one you pick on two, the Kiwi and the Emu.

So, now to link this up. Good night, sweet dreams.
